The amateur Logrolling World Championships kicked off this morning with the world’s top youth athletes! Here are today’s highlights;
U7 coed
Aini Anderson of Holmen took third place at her first world championships! Anderson defeated Hayward’s Abby Howe 3-0, and then lost to Caiden Poupore 1-3. She then made her way through the back bracket to win third place over Joe Howe, 3-0.
U10 girls
Grace Berg faced off against Caroline Horton and was defeated 2-3. Tomorrow, she will be competing against Riley Grossklaus in the back bracket.
U13 girls
Maggie Amundson won her first match 3-0 over Alyssa Casey over Nova Scotia. Tomorrow, Amundson will face Alison Volz of Minneapolis in the quarter finals.
U17 girls
Livi Pappadopoulos won her first match 3-0 over Michaela Prevallet of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She will compete against Caitlin Pott of Lake Elmo, Minnesota tomorrow in the quarter finals.
U17 boys
With a bye, Kody Koblitz faced off against Carson Poupore of Aledo Texas and won 3-1. Tomorrow, Koblitz will compete in the finals against Anthony Polentini.
Local Pro and Semi-Pro competitors include Connor Birdsong, Garrick Birdsong, Leah Burns, Shane Burns, Emily Christopherson, Efer Lopez-Christopherson, and Katie Rick. The professional competition kicks off later this evening.
