La Crosse’s Emily Christopherson, Livi Pappadopoulos, Connor Birdsong, Larsen Birdsong, and Garrick Birdsong on the set of Australia’s Hit TV Show Hack My Brain!
Advanced Rollers enjoy some pizza after practice!
What an exciting week it has been!
On Monday, five of our rollers headed down to Madison, Wi to film an Australian TV Show! Todd Sampson stars in “Hack My Brain”. In each episode, Todd tries a new training obstacle for his Brain Power! At the end of each season, he must complete a crazy challenge!
His newest training technique is logrolling! Emily, Livi, Connor, Larsen and Garrick played rollers and crowd members. Congratulations!
We can’t wait until the episode premiers within the next six months!
We do, however, have an unfortunate announcement. For the time being, Friday Open Rolling has been canceled due to the Wave Swim Team’s Practice. We are looking for a new time for Open Rolling and will let you know if we have any updates!
Other than this minor change to our weekly schedule, things are running smoothly. All of our classes at the Y this week have been successful as always!
Kody Koblitz, Livi Pappadopoulos, and Morgan Thill, advanced rollers taking the Friday 3:15 class, broke records last Friday. They each completed an endurance roll for about 20 minutes! As a reward, they had pizza and brownies at class today! Great work!
The fall season is beginning shortly. The Oconomowoc Rock ‘n’ Roll Season Kick-Off is next Sunday in Oconomowoc, Wi! Come join us for a great day of rolling! At the tournament, the athletes will have a warm up session. During warm ups, rollers are allowed to roll by themselves, roll with a friend, or stretch. During the competition, each roller will roll against all competitors in their age group (each athlete is guaranteed one match) and speed roll (where a roller rolls as fast as they can). Following the tournament will be pizza and an awards ceremony. The top three finishers in each rolling division and in each speed rolling divison will get an award! For sign-up information, visit uslogrolling.com. If you’d like to carpool with a fellow roller, contact logrollingqueen@aol.com. This is going to be a great tournament!
Thank you!
